The layers of the regular wad will come appart fairly easly. The Nitro wads are harder, denser and a dark gray-green colour. mcb. For paper shells, 12 gauge wads work fine, but the larger inside diameter of the brass shells needs a LARGER wad for a good tight fit! (The wads are available at low cost from Circle-Fly.) BobK. WebNov 13, 2024 · May I also suggest .125 darker nitro card followed by 1/4 nitro card from Circle Fly at a much cheaper price and then X12X OP wad also from BPI. If you need to make the wad column longer then add regular .125 nitro card on top of X12X Best of luck and have fun while you are at it. WebSep 25, 2009 · It looks like most of it is 12 ga, like everything Alcan EVER made. All plastic wads, plastic wads with the felt in them, just the plastic over powder cup. I don't recall all the names on the boxes right this second. I even have some over shot cards. Yes I do have 20 ga nitro cards, maybe 2 different thicknesses and several boxes of fiber wads too.
